Our Commitment

Newport Institute for Dentistry believes everyone deserves equal access to information about TMJ care, Botox therapy, and our services. We are actively working to ensure our website is accessible to people with a wide range of abilities, including those who use assistive technology such as screen readers, voice recognition software, magnifiers, and keyboard-only navigation.

Conformance Target

This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the international standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice for ADA compliance and exceeds the WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirement set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Measures We Take

Accessibility is built into how we design and maintain this site. Our approach includes:

• Semantic HTML structure with properly nested headings, navigation landmarks, and lists so screen readers can understand page hierarchy
• Programmatically associated labels on every form field, with clear required-field indicators and accessible error messages
• Full keyboard navigation — every interactive element can be reached and operated without a mouse
• Visible focus indicators on every link, button, and form field
• Color contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG AA thresholds (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and interface components)
• "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page for keyboard users
• Respect for user preferences including reduced motion, browser zoom up to 200%, and text resize without loss of content
• Descriptive link text and page titles that make sense out of context
• Minimum 44×44 pixel touch targets for all interactive elements
• Consistent navigation and page structure across the site

Assessment Methodology

This website has been evaluated using a combination of automated and manual testing:

• Automated accessibility scanning using axe DevTools, WAVE, and Lighthouse
• Manual keyboard-only navigation testing across all pages and interactive elements
• Screen reader testing with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and NVDA (Windows)
• Color contrast verification against WCAG 2.2 AA thresholds using the WebAIM Contrast Checker
• Responsive design and reflow testing at 200% browser zoom

Our most recent comprehensive accessibility audit was completed on April 22, 2026. We review accessibility on an ongoing basis and after significant site updates.
